The third Chinese Lantern Cultural Festival opened in Poland

The opening ceremony of the third Chinese Lantern Cultural Festival in Poland and the inauguration ceremony of the Chinese Garden in Lazienki Park were held in Warsaw on Aug. 2.

The event, hosted by the Warsaw Lazienki Museum and China-Poland Economic and Cultural Exchange Foundation and sponsored by the Chinese Embassy in Poland, was attended by Xu Jian, Chinese ambassador to Poland; Olgierd Dziekoński, secretary of state in the chancellery of the president of Poland; Tadeusz Chomicki, Polish ambassador to China; the curator of the Lazienki Museum and ambassadors from many countries, such as Russia, New Zealand and Thailand.

Xu Jian said in a speech that the event marked the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Poland and China. The third Chinese Lantern Cultural Festival is conducive to introducing Chinese culture and promoting mutual understanding between the two countries. He also said the inauguration of the Chinese Garden provides a new platform for exchanges and cooperation between Poland and China.
