Guilin the City of Terraces and Rivers

It was interesting to hear that the accent was different. And I could notice. Some people thought that I was from Guilin because of my southern facial features. This allowed me to blend in with the locals even more. Unfortunately, I couldn't speak the local dialect... but I could understand it somewhat.

The food was delicious (as usual) and I got to try Guilin noodles. Additionally, I tried a sweet potato, ate chicken out of a grilled bamboo, fresh passion fruit and this type of gao (dessert).

And the biggest highlight? Well, of course befriending a local who was able to show us around the city by bike. With her help we went to the Reed Flute Cave, Elephant Trunk Hill and Seven Star Park. If I were to got back again in the future, it would be when it's warmer... heard you can swim in the lakes then. =)
