A Full Day Tour of Guilin

After lunch I visited a small park and saw Fubo Hill. Fubo Hill is another famous tourist destination in Guilin - it's located right by the Li River. After my tour of Diecai Hill, I headed toward Fubo Hill. While on top of the Bright Moon Peak at Diecai Hill, I can see Fubo Hill not to far off in the distance. So instead of taking a cab, I decided to take a walk in Guilin city, and walked my way towards Fubo Hill. Once inside the Fubo Hill area, there's a cave named the "Thousand Buddha Cave". This cave is located right beneath Fubo Hill, and it's a 2 level cave. The upper level is more than 20 meters long, and the lower level is 7.4 meters long, 6m wide, and 12m tall. There are over 200 stone figures carved inside the cave, and most of them are from the late Tang Dynasty.

Finally I walked along a river and viewed Elephant Hill. Elephant Hill is located at the confluence of Li River and Peach Blossom River in the southwest of Guilin city. It looks like a huge elephant stretching its trunk drinking water hence the name. The Elephant Trunk Hill is a must see for any visitor to Guilin. The entry fee costs $25 yuan. Even though you can see the elephant trunk hill even without entering the park, but it's so much better once you enter the park, and you get a much better view. As well, you can pay $20 yuan to ride on a bamboo raft that will take you directly inside the cave. The Water Moon cave is right between the elephant trunk and the legs. Tourists can ride the bamboo raft all the way inside and through the Water Moon cave.
