An exhibition featuring flower vases from the Ming and Qing dynasties is being held at Taipei Palace Museum in Taipei of Southeast China's Taiwan since Nov 12, 2014.

It showcases of a total of 105 vases, including planters, in which flowers and plants are grown, along with vases and other objects used to hold floral arrangements.

The objects are divided into two sections, the planters and the vases, which present an overview of the development of flower vases throughout the Ming and Qing dynasties.

Planters are vases for growing the whole plant. With aesthetical arrangement, the plant turns the vase into a kind of living art. Floral arrangements are displays of cut flowers and branches placed in vases. In this way, visitors can appreciate their aesthetic beauty.

The exhibition will last till Sept 9, 2015.
