During the festival, Beautiful China, Chinese Customs in Spring Festival, and the photographic exhibition of Rewi Alley and his Zelanian friends in China, co-hosted by the Chinese consulate-general in Christchurch, were also held in four major libraries in Christchurch.
Jin Zhijian, consul-general of the Chinese consulate-general in Christchurch, Lianne Dalziel, mayor of Christchurch, and Yang Jian, a new congressman of Chinese ethnicity, attended the opening ceremony of the China Culture Festival.
