Boshan is one of China's "Five Porcelain Capitals". Archaeological findings show that ceramic production in Boshan has a history of over 8,000 years, and is the most famous colored-glaze production site. The development of Boshan led to the rise of a large number of craftsmen, who have become the main force of promoting the ceramic and colored-glaze art industry. From the unique porcelain sculpture to the exquisite colored-glaze manufacture, from modern pottery to distinctive ethnic inside-bottle painting, the superb techniques and accomplished artistic attainments of the Boshan craftsmen can be found almost everywhere. Every single piece of work they produce bears amazing originality and cultural characteristics.
