The 100 most popular destinations in Beijing will be selected by internet users and announced to the public in October.
The online vote was initiated by the Beijing Municipal Culture and Tourism Bureau in early August and aims to further tap into the capital's culture and tourism resources and offer new experiences for visitors.
Those hotspots will feature distinctive natural scenery, folk customs or local lifestyle elements.
Online voting better reflects the new generation's knowledge and opinions of Beijing and helps to present new cultural and tourism consumption venues that show traditional Beijing flavor and its modern fashion and art, according to an official with the Beijing bureau.
The public can submit their favorite destinations to the bureau's WeChat account until Aug 28, and voting will be conducted in mid-September.
