The unveiling ceremony of Peking University's Fuzhou Institute of Culture Inheritance and Innovation was held in Fuzhou, Jiangxi province, on August 1.
Wang Bo, vice-president of Peking University, said the launch of the Fuzhou institute was a new exploration of cooperation between university and local place, and he hoped the institute can become a research institute that plays an important role in culture inheritance and innovation field.
Zhang Hongxing, mayor of Fuzhou, hoped that Peking University could study the culture of Fuzhou in depth and enhance the influence of Fuzhou culture. "We hope to rely on Peking University's platform to cultivate more talents, especially in culture field," Zhang said.

Professor Peng Feng, director of School of Arts at Peking University, was named director of Fuzhou Institute of Culture Inheritance and Innovation, and hosted an appointment ceremony for counselors and specialists of the institute.
A salon was held to discuss the modernity transformation of traditional culture in the afternoon.
