A TV series based on the real-life stories of Liao Junbo, a late Communist Party role model, has recently aired on the country's flagship channel CCTV-1.
Under the helm of award-winning director Ouyang Fenqiang, the 31-episode drama, Yinuo Wuhui (A Promise Kept Forever), recounts Liao's dedication in poverty alleviation in the far-flung Zhenghe county of East China's Fujian province.
From 2011 and 2015, Liao served as the county's Party chief, helping over 30,000 locals to shake off poverty through boosting economic development ranging from developing tourism to infrastructure constructions.

At 48, or two years after he was promoted to work as the deputy mayor of Nanping city in Fujian province, Liao died in a car crash during an investigatory trip to the countryside on March 18, 2017. Nearly 1,000 people went to the funeral to mourn his death.
Veteran actor Guo Guangping plays Liao, marking his second time to portray the respectful public servant following his 2019 feature-length film Liao Junbo.
The star-studded cast also includes He Zhengjun, Fu Miao, Wei Xiaojun, Bai Fan, Liu Haowen and Cai Jingyi.
Director Ouyang reveals that the major cast members had traveled to two towns where Liao worked, interviewing villagers and local officials to gain lots of first-hand information.
