To mark the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Macao Special Administrative Region this year, the China National Academy of Painting organized for its member artists two separate tours to the region in May and July, during which they sketched, gained inspiration and exchanged ideas with the local art community.

Paintings made from the two trips are now on show at the gallery of the China National Academy of Painting in Beijing, through Wednesday. Also on show are works by artists in Hong Kong and Macao.

The artworks all together create a diverse portrait of Macao's natural scenery as well as cultural and social landscapes, especially the developments being achieved over the past two decades.
