A meeting of Chinese and Cambodian youths to mark the 60th anniversary of the establishing of diplomatic relations between China and Cambodia was held in Beijing recently.
The event, sponsored by All-China Youth Federation and the Cambodian Youth Federation and organized by the China Youth Center for International Exchange, was attended by Wang Hongyan, vice-president of the All-China Youth Federation; Hun Many, president of the Cambodian Youth Federation and Khek Sydoda, the Cambodian Ambassador to China.
The theme of the meeting was to build a community of shared future between China and Cambodia with the help of the younger generation.
The event brought together nearly 300 young representatives from various fields in China and Cambodia, as well as Cambodian students in China.
Representatives from both China and Cambodia jointly reviewed the 60 years of friendship between the two countries and held in-depth discussions on how to play a positive role in promoting the Sino-Cambodia partnership and achieve shared development.
During the meeting, six Chinese and Cambodian youth representatives who had participated in bilateral cooperation projects shared their experiences and stories.
The activity was jointly proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping and Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen in May 2017 in an effort to enhance friendly exchanges and cooperation between the youth from the two countries and further consolidate bilateral relations.
