No.3 Yuju Opera Troupe of Henan Province

The Troupe was set up in October 1952 on the basis of the Opera Troupe of Henan Province.

Over the past 40 years, the Troupe has created and presented more than 200 repertoire programs. Among them, Chao Yang Gully, Marriage of Xiao Erhei, Liu Hulan, Stubborn Father-in-Law and Obstinate Daughter-in-Law, A Grown-up Son Never Dominated by Father and other repertoire have enjoyed high reputation. In recent 20 years, 13 repertoire and over 50 artists won prizes in competitions and invitational performance at provincial and national levels. A Grown-up Son Never Dominated by Father presented in the Emulating Performance of Contemporary Theme of the National Traditional Opera in 1991, got 6 grand prizes including prizes of excellent program. Haw Becoming Red won Wenhua New Program Prize awarded by the Ministry of Culture and other individual items including direct, music, dance light, players etc.

The 3^rdYuju Opera Troupe has a group of distinguished, the 1^stgrade actors and actresses. They are Gao Jie, Wang Shanpu, Wei Yun, Liu Lanfang, Guo Jianmin, Lu Lanxiang, Tang Yuying and Ma Lan.
