The China Harbin Summer Music Concert will be held from August 6 to 20 in Harbin , the capital city of Heilongjiang province.
Founded in 1961, the China Harbin Summer Music Concert is one of China's oldest concert festivals.
And since 1996, the summer event has become a state-level program, jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture and the Harbin Municipal People's Government.
In June 2010, Harbin, a city with more than 100 years of history, was awarded the title of "Music City" by the United Nations, becoming the first city in China to win this award.
This year, festival will feature vocal performances, musicals and workshops open to the public.
More than 20 national performing arts troupes will perform at the event.
Meanwhile, the fourth edition of Alice and Eleonore Schoenfeld International String Competition will also take place in Harbin in the summer of 2018.
The competition, which honors sisters Alice and Eleonore Schoenfeld, aims to promote the world's gifted young musicians.
The Harbin Symphony Orchestra, a century-old orchestra, which has been the competition orchestra for 2014 and 2016, will perform with young string musicians competing for top prizes at SISC 2018 at the Harbin Concert Hall.
