The ballet Melody on the Toe, Charm of Tianjin was staged at the theater of the China Cultural Center in Bangkok on June 27 and attended by more than 1,800 audience members.
Lan Suhong, cultural counselor of the Chinese embassy in Thailand, said the performance is the first ballet held in the China Cultural Center in Bangkok for more than five years since its establishment, and the show has received strong support from the cultural promotion department of Thailand's Ministry of Culture and the Thai Cultural Center.
The Tianjin Ballet Troupe performed classic Western ballet pieces such as The Four Little Swans and La Esmeralda, and modern Chinese ballet dramas such as Red Women Army and Spring River Flower Moonlight Night combining ballet and Chinese culture.
The activity was jointly organized by the China Cultural Center in Bangkok, the cultural promotion department of the Thai Ministry of Culture and the Tianjin Cultural Radio, Film and Television Bureau.
