Members of the 2018 Sino-Foreign Audiovisual Translation and Dubbing Cooperation Workshop visited Shanghai Media Group, one of China's largest media and cultural conglomerates, last Friday to discuss the international promotion plan for China's films and TV programs.

Preliminary cooperative intentions were established during presentations from SMG's documentary channel and Wings Media, a subsidiary focusing on the program distribution of SMG.

American film translator Erica Marcus believes working with local media enterprises like Wings would enhance China-US exchanges in film and TV, she said. Al Greeny Savitri Dewayanti, business director of Orange TV from Indonesia, expressed strong interest in introducing the documentary Memories in Shanghai to Indonesian viewers.

After a tour within the SMG exhibition hall, guests were invited to the renowned Shanghai Film Shooting Base which has preserved the unique Shanghai architecture and serves as a shooting location for a variety of Chinese TV dramas.

The visit and meeting served as a demonstration of Chinese film and TV for international experts. By initiating more dialogue, the SFATD will continue to promote Chinese cultural products worldwide.
