Li Yushuang, 83, the eldest son of master artist Li Keran (1907-89), inherited from his parents a passion for painting and a good sense of color arrangement.

His mother, Su E, was also a gifted painter.

And although he worked for decades as a mechanic, Li Yushuang spared no effort to work on his painting skills.

As a result, he produced dozens of sketches and watercolors, and since his retirement in the late 1980s, he has devoted himself fully to oil painting.

Li Yushuang is showing dozens of his paintings at a solo exhibition, titled Draw What I See, at the gallery of the National Centre for the Performing Arts through May 20.
