A Sino-British music festival will be held in Wuhan, capital of Central China's Hubei province, in May, authorities said at a press conference on Tuesday.
The festival will be co-hosted by the British Consulate-General in Wuhan and the local foreign affairs office from May 12 to May 18.
Activities such as classical chamber concerts, lectures and music courses organized by master musicians will be held, according to the Hubei provincial government's foreign affairs office.
The event aims to provide a platform for performances and exchanges between Chinese and British musicians, music teachers and students.
Nick Whittingham, the British Consul General in Wuhan, said that the music festival will serve as a bridge for cultural exchanges between people in Britain and Hubei Province.
The festival will be held alternately in Hubei and London as an ongoing cultural and educational cooperation program. Next year, it will be held in London.
