2018 marks the 10th anniversary of Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between China and Denmark, and the two countries will hold a series of celebrations for it.
Lighten Up Copenhagen, co-organized by the Chinese embassy in Denmark and the Danish side, is an event that organizers hope will bring "an auspicious start to 2018". It will be held from Tuesday to Feb 12 in Denmark's capital, Copenhagen. This event, which will take place during Chinese New Year, or Spring Festival, will bring the Chinese festive atmosphere to the cold Danish winter nights and create a chance for the Danish people to experience Chinese New Year.
Lighten Up Copenhagen will be divided into three parts:
The first part, Lanterns on Walking Street (Strøget)” will be held from Tuesday to Feb 12. During this time, the 1.5-kilometer-long Strøget, Europe's longest commercial street, will be decorated with Chinese lanterns.
