More than 10 well-known comedians and actors feature in the upcoming film Yao Ling Ling (The Monsters’ Bells), making it one of the most anticipated comedies of the Chinese New Year season.
The movie is the directorial debut of Hong Kong actress Sandra Ng. The story is about a couple of property developers, who disguise themselves as ghosts to scare away some residents in a rundown building.
The movie, which has Hong Kong filmmaker Peter Chan as its executive producer, will open across China on Dec 29.
Ng says the movie gives a fresh touch to traditional comedy films by adding horror elements.
The celebrity-studded cast has Hong Kong award-winning actors Francis Ng, Alex Fong, and mainland comedians Yue Yunpeng, Shen Teng, as well as Papi Jiang, one of the country’s most well-known cyber-celebrities.
