The 21st Beijing Screenings, jointly hosted by the film bureau of the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television, the Fujian provincial bureau of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television, and the Fuzhou city government, will take place in Fuzhou, capital of Fujian province, from Nov 29 to Dec 2.
The event is organized by China Film Promotion International, the Film Import & Export Corporation under the China Film Group Corporation, the production center of China Movie Channel directed by SAPPRFT, as well as several culture or movie-related companies in Fujian province.
This year's Beijing Screenings will be incorporated into the Fourth Silk Road International Film Festival, which will be held in Fuzhou, too.
The annual Beijing Screenings is seen as an important way for Chinese films to go into the world market. It has become a trading platform that attracts both buyers from all over the world and members the selection committees of international film festivals. It also offers a good chance for exchange and cooperation between foreign customers and Chinese film producers, according to the organizers.
More than 1,000 outstanding Chinese films have been screened in its last sessions.
This year, nearly 100 Chinese films of various genres and styles will be shown.
More than 40 distributors, investors, critics, and association representatives from nearly 20 countries and regions are expected to select their favorites during the event, a news conference held by the organizers announced on Oct 27.
