The 2017 International Heritage Preservation Equipment Expo opened in Jinan, capital of Shandong province, on Friday.
The three-day expo, covering an area of 5,000 square meters, has attracted 200 companies and institutions from both China and abroad. They will showcase the latest developments in the fields of heritage equipment, archaeological technology, cultural relic restoration, ancient architecture renovation methods, and other fields relating to the conservation of cultural heritage.
A special unit has also been set up to display derivative cultural products available to museums, such as creative souvenirs.
Academic lectures on the restoration of cultural relics will also be given by scholars from China and Italy at the expo.
The first expo, which was planned as a biennial event, was held in Jinan in 2015.
