The Palace Museum Services, a book reviewing the museum's achievements in the past few years, was released by the Social Sciences Academic Press of China on Monday.
The book covers a wide range of services provided by the world's most visited museum, from ensuring visitor safety to holding exhibitions and the improvement of infrastructure.
In 2016, more than 16 million people visited the Palace Museum, also known as the Forbidden City - the seat of power in late imperial China.
The museum has also endeavored to ease pressure brought by a massive visitor turnout in the past few years.
The Beijing Municipal Commission of Tourism Development announced that the new book would help other tourist destinations in the city learn from the museum's experiences.
