More than 70 pieces of Huang Xiaoming's wood art are now on show at the National Museum of China.
A native of East China's Zhejiang province, Huang inherited the age-old wood-carving skills of his hometown Dongyang since the age of 16.
Now, 52, he has a body of work in traditional technique with a modern touch, inspired by the architectural style of Dongyang.
The place has produced generations of artisans whose works decorate both ordinary houses and the Forbidden City.
The exhibition runs through Oct 29.
