Dong Qun, one of the scriptwriters for Wolf Warrior 2, will see his hit online novel Bullet Marks made into a TV series.
Meanwhile, Wolf Warrior 2 has so far earned 5.6 billion yuan ($870 million), making it the highest-grossing movie in China.
Dong scripted the movie with Wu Jing, the film's director and star, as well as writers Liu Yi and Gao Yan.
The TV series is about a group of Chines special forces soldiers.
Han Hao, the general manager of Wit & Key Pictures, which is making the series, says the show will feature a number of cutting-edge weapons.
