A 3D-animation centered around tea pets, cute clay figurines in a local tea shop in a southern Chinese city, will hit theaters around China this Friday.
The lead character, a clay figurine named Ah Tang, is different from all the other cute little clay figures which change color when covered in tea. This makes Ah Tang upset.
It is also the motivation behind his action-packed adventures to realize his desire to change color like the other figures that are believed good-luck charms for tea drinkers.
Chinese actress Hu Ke and her son sang the theme song for this movie.
"I really appreciate the delicately-designed story plot. This animation conveys the knowledge of traditional Chinese culture, including theories about life that they need to consider. The movie not only entertains kids but also educates them."
Earlier, Tea Pets was nominated in the competition for Golden Goblet Award for best animation in Shanghai, along side four other animations.
