The annual World Music Day created a heat wave in Beijing's club hub Sanlitun on Monday.
Chinese folk-rock singer Yang Le joined hands with French bands for performances at the festival's opening, lifting the curtains of a three-day music event in the Chinese capital.
The music festival will continue through Wednesday night in Beijing's clubs, staging more than 20 free concerts from both Chinese and French bands including Taiwan MC, Colors in the Street, King Krab, French 79 and Las Aves.
