The 2017 USA China Child Dance Competition, jointly organized by the USA China Entrepreneurs Association and the USA China Child Dance Competition Committee, has launched its application process and auditions will be held in late May, the organizers said at a news conference on Saturday.
The competition is being held in cooperation with AAMTC, a US-based international association for young dancers established in 1976, and is one among the other cultural exchange programs that were planned for the China-US Tourism Year in 2016.
The competition will include six dance categories — hip-hop, jazz, Latin and folk dances.
A semifinal for dancers from China will be held in mid-June, and a final contest will be held in July in Las Vegas.
Winners in the finals will be invited to the awards ceremony of the 19th Teen Choice Awards, an annual show honoring the year's achievements in music, film, sports and television.
