The International Telecommunication Union has adopted China's national standard for mobile devices' animation as an international criterion.
It's China's first technological standard in a cultural field to be adopted internationally, the Ministry of Culture said at a news conference on Monday.
The standard number T. 621 has been used by over 1,000 mobile-device animation operators in China. This creates uniformed formats and technical methods for running content nationwide.
Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications professor Chen Hong says the standard saves content operators energy in terms of transformation among different formats.
It gives them more time to create new content and facilitates the circulation of new production.
He adds that the internationalization of China's national standard will help Chinese hardware manufacturers go overseas.
Yu Qun, an assistant to the Minister of Culture, says the standard's promotion will first focus on Belt and Road Initiative countries. It'll gradually spread to the Americas and Europe.
He also says China will develop more international technological standards related to the cultural sphere.
