Metallica recently announced its debut in Beijing as part of the band's WorldWired Tour 2017.
The Grammy-award winning heavy metal band will perform on January 18, 2017 at the LeSports Center. In addition, the tour will visit Seoul, Hong Kong, Singapore and more Asian dates and cities will be revealed soon.
"Ni Hao, Beijing. I am just sharing with you that Metallic is very excited to come to play in Beijing for the very first time," Lars Ulrich, Metallica's drummer, says in a recorded video released by AEG Live, the live-entertainment division of Los Angeles-based AEG on November 14.
While the playlist for China hasn't been unveiled, it's expected that the band is going to their classic hits as well as tracks from their upcoming new album, Hardwired…To Self-Destruct, their eleventh studio album, which will be released on November 18 via Blackened Recordings.
The 2CD/2 vinyl set is the band's first album since their 2008 multi-platinum, Death Magnetic, which was nominated for five Grammy Awards at the 51st Grammy Awards in February 2009. The new album is produced by Greg Fidelman, who engineered and mixed Death Magnetic.
