Super Girl contest was once the most influential show in China. The national all-women singing competition, which fascinated hundreds of millions, ushered the era of reality show boom in the country.
Now, 12 contenders of the last season, which was broadcast in 2011, will reunite to take part in a commemorative concert called Five Year Agreement.
Dozens of familiar songs from the season will be part of the event.
Singers, including Yu Jiali, Jin Yinling, Hong Chen and Duan Linxi, are calling on fans to recommend songs in an online campaign.
Last month, a live show to promote the concert on video-streaming sites drew nearly three million viewers, which proves the "super girls" still have the big influence after five years.
The concert will be co-held by several leading entertainment companies, including Hangzhou-based entertainment firm Networld and Shanghai-based studio EE-Media.
Organizers said the concert wants to encourage ordinary people to be brave to chase their dreams.
Although preparation works began on September 22, the date of the concert has not yet been announced.
