The "2016 Shanghai International Sister Cities Youth Camp" kicked off in Shanghai on July 12, 2016.

This year, 40 Shanghai students will join 102 students and teachers from 17 Shanghai international sister cities, including Australia's Queensland, Canada's Quebec, Finland's Espoo, France's Rhone Alps, Israel's Haifa and Egypt's Alexandria, to learn Chinese language and culture, tour around Shanghai, and participate in the outward bound at Oriental Land.

At the opening ceremony, students and teachers were deeply attracted by Chinese knots, Chinese traditional paper cutting, and Chinese calligraphy.

Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, the sponsor of the camp, expressed hope that the camp will enable its members to fully comprehend Chinese culture, experience Shanghai's charm and develop interest in studying in Shanghai.
