A number of imported films have announced their release dates in the Chinese mainland hoping to grab a share of takings before the hot summer season.
Finding Dory, the sequel to Finding Nemo will open on June 17 while Independence Day: Resurgence opens one week later on June 24.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows will not be shown until July 2, just outside the month of June.
Apart from the newly settled dates, there are already three other blockbusters in competition.
X-Men: Apocalypse, starring Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence, is leading the way on June 3, five days earlier than famous game-adapted movie Warcraft.
Action comedy Now You See Me 2 will open on June 24, featuring Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo and Jay Chou.
Together with other 5 domestic films, there will be a total of 10 films competing in June alone.
It could prove to be a difficult battle ground for domestic films, especially for art-house films.
