China's hit music band TF Boys has won the attention of filmmakers of an upcoming domestic animated movie, who plan to invite the band members to be voice actors for the film.
The three teen stars of TF Boys have gained huge popularity since they made their debut in 2013. The band is now followed by more than 8 million fans on weibo, the Chinese equivalent of Twitter.
Yi Yangqianxi, the 16-year-old dancer of the band, voiced the title role in the French animated film The Little Prince for its Mandarin version last year.
During a forum at the 12th China International Cartoon and Animation Festival in Hangzhou, Zhuo Jianrong, director and producer of The Autobots franchise, revealed that the crew plans to invite the TF Boys to participate in the film.
The Autobots II, a sequel to the 2015-released The Autobots, is scheduled for release in summer 2017.
With a budget around 30 million yuan ($4.64 million), the 85-minute sci-fi movie revolves around an adventurous journey of the car protagonist, who is involved into a conspiracy related to a competitive show.
