Chinese Culture Talk on seal engraving held in Czech Republic

A new lecture in the Chinese Culture Talk series, "Exploring Chinese people's pursuit of humanism through seal engraving", was held in Prague, capital of the Czech Republic, on April 11, 2016.

The culture lecture was given by Luo Pengpeng, director of the Institute of Chinese Seal Engraving at the Chinese National Academy of Arts.

Students, Sinologists, artists, and officials from the diplomatic department were among the nearly 100 people who attended the lecture.

Luo started the lecture by comparing the styles of seal engraving in different countries and regions and then she talked about the texture, techniques and features of Chinese seal engraving.

The lecture was concise but interesting, allowing listeners to fully comprehend the artistic charm of Chinese seal engraving.

Luo also shared the latest development in Chinese seal engraving, which was listed as one of the intangible cultural heritages by the UNESCO.

As part of the Chinese Culture Talk series, the lecture aims to enhance cultural communications between China and the world.
