Domestic feature film "Chongqing Hotpot" topped China's box office in the week ending April 10, according to China Film News.
The film, a heist drama about the events that lead to four friends robbing a bank, raked in nearly 172 million yuan (26.5 million US dollars) during the week, bringing its total ticket sales to 312 million yuan since its debut on April 1.
"London Has Fallen," a followup to "Olympus Has Fallen," was a respectable No 2 in the week, earning 159 million yuan.
Featuring Hong Kong action star Sammo Hung and Andy Lau, domestic movie "The Bodyguard" came in third, with 127 million yuan.
Pulling in an added 85 million yuan in the week, the animated Disney film "Zootopia" has raked in 1.51 billion yuan since it was released on March 4 to become the highest grossing animation ever in the Chinese market.
The fifth place went to superhero film "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," grossing 54 million yuan.
