A Chinese rock 'n' roll pioneer has thrilled his fans with a new album, releasing it without any prior hype or promotional campaigns.
Named "Chunfen Shiqin Tu" in Chinese, Dou Wei's album came out on March 20 and public attention has been building since then.
Released on the spring equinox according to the Chinese Lunar Calendar, the album is filled with the theme of Spring, which represents vital energy and symbolizes the rebirth of nature.
This latest album includes three CDs, covering Dou's creative works between 2010 to 2012.
The rock singer also used several traditional Chinese musical instruments, such as flute and guzheng, to interpret the songs in the album.
Dou Wei first came to fame as a member of rock band Black Panther, with well-known songs like Shameful, Spirit of Light, and Don't Break My Heart.
His first solo album, Dark Dreams, was a landmark album in the Chinese rock scene and gained strong popularity.
