Masterpieces by Western impressionist and modern artists will be on show at an Hong Kong exhibition from Jan 5-8.

Displayed paintings celebrate the artistic strength of Henri Matisse, Paul Signac, Rene Magritte and Francis Picabia.

Belgian surrealist master Rene Magritte applied in his gouache painting with collages, L'useage de la parole (the usage of the world), a number of iconic elements and objects, including the signature image of a hatted man.
