Last weekend, dancers from Guangzhou Ballet performed classic pieces at the Tianqiao Theater in Beijing.

Their performance included three Chinese classic pieces: The Yellow River, The Butterfly Lovers and Sylphide. They also put on a ballet show of Serenade, the contemporary work of American choreographer George Balanchine.

As one of China's most outstanding artistic performance organizations, world-renowned Guangzhou Ballet is characterized by its rigorous standardized and passionate style of performance. The troupe also creates their own original ballet operas such as Return on a Snowy Night and Mei Lanfang.
