The China International Gallery Exposition (CIGE), which is now in its 11th year, will be held at the China National Convention Center in Beijing from Oct 8 to Oct 11.
Unlike previous expositions, CIGE 2015 not only made the exhibition booth free for exhibitors, but also launched a solo exhibition project for the first time.
As reported, a "50+50=100%" model was introduced this year, which separates the exhibition into two parts – area A and area B. The former consists of 50 outstanding galleries from around the world, and the latter showcases solo exhibitions of 50 brilliant young and middle-aged artists.
"Making the exhibition free of charge and setting up an area for solo exhibitions are all for improving the quality of the exhibition," said Wang Yihan, executive-director of the exhibition. Wang said that such an arrangement would allow viewers more choice, and the people would get a chance to see the really good artworks.
