People danced to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday at Lotus Lake Park, Fengtai district, on Sept 26. It was also the final competition of Dancing Beijing, an annual contest for amateur dancers.
The finalists included 16 teams that performed folk dance, sports dance and square dance. They were selected from 480 teams from across the capital beginning in May. The winner will participate into the Amateur Stars dance festival organized by the Ministry of Culture in December.
Organized by the Beijing culture bureau, the annual Dancing Beijing festival started in 2006 to promote dancing in public squares and help people to live better and healthy lives.
