Artists from six countries will appear in Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin and Baotou during the first Future Star International Arts Festival which runs until August 21.

The event comprises three distinct segments: performance, cultural exchange and educational session, where artists and troupes will bring their cultures and arts together.

Performances from Israel’s Duo Lorenzen, Switzerland’s Anamacara Trio, Turkey’s Anatolian National Orchestra and Sydney Children's Choir, among others, are expected.

A highlight will be rising star pianist Tim Zhang. As image ambassador of the festival, he is to give three concerts during the event.

The 22-year-old Chinese-Canadian was born in Nanjing and started learning at the age of five. Graduating from the Royal Academy of Music in the UK, he was named Steinway Artist after receiving a slew of national and international competition awards. He was also the cultural ambassador for the 2014 Youth Olympic Games.

"I hope my performances will bring classical music into more people's lives and help them enjoy it. Classical music is not something far away from us," Zhang said.

The event is organized by Baotou Grand Theatre, Beijing Concert Hall and Beijing Eurovista Arts Promotion Co.,Ltd.
