Shenzhen holds 2015 WDC World Cup

The opening ceremony of 2015 WDC (World Dance Council) World Cup: The 13th China Open / 1st Junior & Youth Open Championships was held in Shenzhen, a major city in China's Southern Guangdong province, on Sunday.

Hosts of the event included China Ballroom Dance Federation, Shenzhen Association for International Culture Exchanges, Shenzhen Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and Futian District Bureau of Culture and Sport.

Countries participating in the event include United Kingdom, United States, Italy, Germany, Russia, Australia, Poland, Denmark, Slovenia, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and China. The competition boasts 23 countries, 170 individual delegations, and 2,500 contestants. This competition is the largest event in the Asian-Pacific.

This competition discovered some of the most talented youths. The opening dance featured performance by the champion dance team of Beijing Dance Academy who won the Latin Formation title at the 90th Blackpool Dance Festival in Britain, 2015.

Later, 14 and under contestants participated in the Latin dance finales. The competition attracted thousands of dance enthusiasts to watch.
