More than 30 United Nations' employees visited Rongbaozhai, a landmark shop in Chinese art, in Beijing on Saturday.

The UN staffers participated in a series of cultural activities including onsite creation of woodblock printing, a craft that was listed among the first group of state-level intangible cultural heritages and is one of Rongbaozhai's well-known traditional craft products.

The tour also included a special calligraphy and seal-cutting exhibition at the Rongbaizhai Calligraphy Exhibition Hall.

The delegation was introduced to Rongbaozhai's art collections, shops and tea culture.

According to He Yong, a Chinese Language Coordinator at the UN and head of the delegation, Chinese language and arts including calligraphy have become very popular in the UN in recent years. Many promotional activities have been carried out both at the UN and in China.

"We'd like to strengthen our friendship with the UN and contribute more to the international promotion of Chinese culture," said Ma Wuyi, president, Rongbaozhai.
