An art week ran in Kunming city, Yunnan province, from June 11 to 16 accompanying those industrial exhibitions and commercial activities of the China-South Asia Expo (CSA Expo), which were held between June 12 and 16.
Several activities took place during the six days event. More than 140 writers from the South and Southeast Asian countries as well as China had been invited to join a workshop where literature works from these countries were studied. The participants learned the uniqueness among their cultures and the mutual influences they have on each other.
Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Nepal and Thailand, Vietnam and Bangladesh were among the few names of participating countries.
In addition, a string of Indian movies were screened at several art venues across Kunming. These movies were offered by the Embassy of India to China for free.
On June 13, artists from China and India also met with college students to talk about the profound dancing cultures in both countries. Eight boutique dance performances from Yunnan joined the opening gala at India pavilion.
