The first session of the Paris International Art Festival will debut in September with China as the guest of honor.

Xia Er, who is responsible for the preparatory arrangements over the Asian region, said that the grand expo would last for eight days. First-class artists from all over the world will gather in Paris to conduct cultural exchanges through this platform. He said he hoped that the French people will better understand China’s profound culture through this art show.

According to Cai Chuibiao, the Parisian government’s commissioner over cultural affairs, Chinese artists will find it easier to communicate with their renowned counterparts in the world and perform on the same stage. Also, the organizing committee will set up a special zone with a large space for the Chinese artists to bring the performance into full play, and visitors can have close contact with them. He added that he would cooperate with members of the committee, as well as in the Association pour la Promotion des Echanges Culturels France-Chine (Association for the Promotion of Cultural Exchanges between France and China), and make due contributions to this grand meeting.
