On Nov 27, Suzhou Design Week wrapped up with the setting up of a federation for the protection of intangible cultural heritage and an association of cultural and creative industries in Suzhou’s Gusu district.
The five-day event saw the city hold exhibitions to showcase modern design and traditional crafts like brocade, embroidery, woodcuts, new year painting and kesi, a silk-weaving technique.
Besides, there were forums for government officials, experts, entrepreneurs and designers to explore the possibility of using design to fuel the city’s development.
