"To promote excellent traditional culture, Bailudong Academy has held a large number of cultural studies, academic exchanges and teaching activities," Li said, adding those events set out to help more people know the history of the academy and understand its significance.
One of these activities — the White Deer Forum, jointly organized by the Bailudong Academy's Management Committee and the White Deer School — has enjoyed positive feedback from participants. So far, more than 130 scholars from all walks of life have joined in, and online participants have exceeded 1 million.
"It is such a huge misunderstanding, this idea that most young Chinese people have turned a blind eye to traditional culture. Instead, quite a few young people have shown great interest in it. And Bailudong Academy is a perfect place for them to come and learn," said Guo Hongda, deputy director of the academy's management committee.
"Bailudong Academy has followed the latest trends, integrating Chinese traditions with current issues. We want to appeal to more and more people so they pay a visit," he added.
