Dulwich College Beijing's Symphony Orchestra presented two concerts for young people designed to give an insight into What is Melody? on Oct 23-24, Beijing. [Photo provided to chinadaily.com.cn]

The orchestra and the conductors, Paul West and Connie Chou, showcased live musical examples to help the audience understand how a composer puts together a piece of music, as well as introduce the students to instruments and sounds they may never have experienced before.

The concert was inspired by Leonard Bernstein's "Young People's Concerts" which the great conductor used to hold in New York from 1958 to 1972.
