Fu Baiyin, a Li woman in her 50s, is born in Yudao village in the east part of Hainan. Like all women and girls in the village, she spends most of her leisure time creating the traditional handicraft - Li brocade. The women and girls in the village share the same objective of keeping the tradition alive, not only because they revere the God of Li and the ancestors, but they want to protect their unique culture. Although nowadays women in Yudao village choose different ways of making Li brocade according to their own preference, the aim remains the same - passing the tradition down through educating the next generation.
