Co-organized by the Chinese Dancers Association and the Federation of Thai and Chinese Artists, the 2018 China-ASEAN Youth Dance Interaction and Competition, themed “Belt & Road: Image of Thailand” was held in the country in March.

As an effort to further promote China-ASEAN exchanges and friendship, the event facilitated communication between youths from the two sides.

Nearly 1,000 youth dancers of various dance teams participated in the event. These teams were from China’s 18 provinces and municipalities and the ASEAN countries, including Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia and the Philippines. Chinese dancers staged traditional performances for the local audience, and ASEAN youth artists also danced to showcase their own ethnic characteristics, attracting glowing reviews. In addition, the delegation of Chinese youth dancers paid a visit to the Confucius Classroom at the Traimitwitthayalai School in Bangkok and the Mathayom Taksin Rayong School, where they watched performances given by local students and had friendly exchanges.
